Load Capacity
Both the LWTURMRT 64x39 Extendable Alloy Steel Roof Basket and the LWTURMRT Roof Rack Cargo Basket 54x36 Steel share an identical maximum weight capacity of 300 pounds. This limit applies to the structural integrity of the steel frame itself. You must always verify your specific vehicle manufacturer’s roof rack dynamic weight limit, as it may be lower than the carrier’s rating. Since both models support the same heavy load, neither holds an advantage in raw strength. You can carry camping gear, luggage, or bulky items in either basket without worrying about exceeding the 300-pound threshold for the carrier structure.
Basket Dimensions
The LWTURMRT 64x39 model offers a significantly larger footprint, measuring 64 inches in length and 39 inches in width. In contrast, the 54x36 model measures 54 inches in length and 36 inches in width. The larger basket provides more surface area for sprawling items like kayaks or long luggage. Both carriers are constructed from heavy-duty alloy steel with a durable black powder coating. The 64x39 model weighs 39.1 pounds, while the 54x36 model weighs 39 pounds. The weight difference is negligible at less than one ounce. Both models feature a five-inch side rail height to prevent items from sliding off.
